Pune: Maharashtra will install solar panels at the farmers’ homes and in buildings of land and building owners, to help reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions, according to an official release.
The State Planning Commission (SPC) has approved the plan for a three-phase pilot project to install solar panel on 1.3 acres of land in Pune district, at the area of Dhaba and at the premises of residential units.
The project will be in operation in the first phase.
The SPC said the project will help reduce the consumption of air pollutants and greenhouse gases by reducing the impact on the environment.
The panel installation will start on November 1 and be completed by December 31.
