A group of Indian developers are looking to build a $1 billion solar farm on a disputed piece of land near the city of Sinic in India’s northeastern state of Uttar Pradesh.
In a move that’s likely to fuel the countrys solar industry, developers from two companies have agreed to sign a land deal that will allow the group to build an ambitious solar farm near the town of Srinagar.
Solar farms have long been seen as a potential solution to India’s energy crisis, and their development could also be seen as an answer to an industry that has suffered from the lack of clean energy and has been left to deal with the fallout of India’s devastating floods last year.
India has been grappling with a chronic lack of solar energy as its economy relies heavily on coal.
In the last few years, India’s solar sector has witnessed a huge growth in the country, which is set to become the world’s third-largest solar market in 2021.
The project is being spearheaded by Indian conglomerate Bajaj Solar.
According to the deal, the project will include 100 megawatts of solar power capacity and an additional 300 megawatts, which could add up to a total of 1,000 megawatts.
The group says the project is a joint venture between Bajij Solar, Sinic, Jeev Solar, Prakash Group, SolarCity, and Srinav Solar.
The solar farm will include an area of 10,000 square kilometers and will include two separate power plants that will provide about 1,500 megawatts each.
The site, located at a location near the northern edge of Sinica, is a disputed section of land which has been claimed by the Sinic City Development Corporation, a joint entity of Sinice City Development Corp., Sinic Energy and Sinic Power Corp. in a bid to build solar power plants on the disputed land.
The city of Sipil, which has a population of some 30,000, was granted the right to construct and operate the solar farm when the project was first proposed in the early 2000s.
It was later sold to another group of developers in 2010, and is currently under the jurisdiction of the Sinice Development Corporation.
Sinic has been battling a lack of renewable energy in recent years, as it has been plagued by a shortage of energy in the region, according to The Times of India.
The area is a popular tourist destination, and many locals see solar as a solution to the region’s energy problems.
According to reports, the development will also be built in the town, which lies in the area of a planned solar power plant, a project that is slated to start construction in 2021, the same year as the solar project.
The developers have promised to build the solar plant on a site that is located in an area that has a history of heavy deforestation, which resulted in a massive fire in 2015 that burned more than 600 square kilometers of the forested area.
