Obama to visit Washington state to unveil plan to help victims of domestic violence

WASHINGTON (AP) President Barack Obama will visit Washington State to unveil a new initiative to help men and women who have been victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.

Obama plans to hold a news conference Monday in Seattle.

The initiative aims to give survivors an opportunity to share their story with the public, and help prevent the reoccurrence of such crimes.

The White House announced last week that the president will attend the first annual Domestic Violence Summit.
