India is a mobile powerhouse, but one market is now poised for its own boom.
The global mobile phone market is growing at a healthy clip, according to a new report from research firm Canalys.
According to Canalys, the global market grew by 12% in the year to March 31, 2018, to $2.45 trillion.
Mobile phone shipments are set to reach $3.5 trillion by 2022.
India is on track to overtake China as the world’s fourth largest market for smartphones.
Its market share is on a steady rise over the past few years, thanks to its low-cost and affordable mobile devices and the presence of the country’s biggest and most popular telecom operator, Vodafone.
